Review: Our airbnb was excellent and the view of Diamondhead and the ocean was to die for.

The penthouse location was perfect. We were in Waikiki near all the action, but not close enough to be disturbed.

VW Camper Van

Review: Let’s just say I loved this van so much that I am currently saving up to get my own.

Camping is available for free throughout the island, but we decided to book a camping spot at Malaekahana Campground RIGHT BY THE WATER.

Not only did we have a place to stay, but we didn’t have to rent a car while we had the van.

The only downfall to some could be that it’s an older manual, but if you can drive an old stick you are set!

A perfect way to experience the North Shore.

What We Did?

Activities

Honolulu Activities

Kualoa Ranch ATV

Price: $85
Rating: ★★★★☆

Day ➊
Review

Review: We arrived late to the ranch, but the staff still took great care of us.

The ranch was soo picturesque however the ride was a bit underwhelming, for an adventurer like myself, because you can only go as fast as the slowest person in your group.

HI-72 Drive

Day 2 we took out to drive the entire island. We started out early morning and drove the shoreline on HI-72.

The views are breathtaking and there are stops labeled “scenic point” along the way, making it very easy to do on your own

Day ➋

Parasailing

Price: $35
Rating: ★★★★★

Day ➌
Review

Review: Loved it. Awesome guides, awesome time.

We got a view of Diamondhead and even saw a whale!

Paradise Cove Luau

Price: $85
Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Day ➌
Review

Review: When in Rome, right? I’d heard that this was one of the best luaus on the island. The food was OK.

There were a few parts that were entertaining, but I definitely not something I’d do again if I had the chance.

Mermaid Caves

After parasailing and before the luau we stopped by “secret” Mermaid Caves near Zablan Beach.

Definitely, IG worthy, but be careful! It’s really a cave meaning you must climb in and out.

Also, ensure that the tide is low before entering so you aren’t swept away!

Day ➌

B.O.B Underwater Scooter

Price: $89
Rating: ★★★★★

Day ➍
Review

Review: Scuba diving on a scooter is the best way to describe this! It was sooo much fun.

We were even able to snorkel while waiting for our turn on the scooter.

Sightseeing

We explored the North Shore and it’s crazy waves a bit and went surfer watching at Sharks Cove and Banzai Pipeline.
